Poles pay tax bills with blood
The phrase: “Those bloody taxes !” is getting a very funny meaning in Poland nowadays.
From now on it is possible to pay your tax bills by donating blood in Poland. Everyone who donates a liter of blood can now deduct 45 euros from their tax bills. Hospitals are giving out certificates to blood donors for every liter of donated blood.
Then one simply puts this certificate with his tax application, and 45 euros is deducted from their tax debt.
“One of my friends is an accountant and he told me about this new procedure,” says Dariusz Gryka from the town of Bialystok. ” I have donated my blood three times now. I can say it is definitely worth it !”

This is nothing new. For Czech taxpayers it started over 30 years ago. If you became blood donor in Czech, you are eligible to deduct certain amount of money from your taxable income. Of course amount of taxable income eligible to be deduct raised over years. I do not have current numbers however 4 years ago it was approx. $100 for one donor session (0.5 litre of blood). That means that you could lower your tax by $20-$40 (depending on your tax level). As donor can give blood every 3 months, it could amount up to $80-$160 taken out of your taxes. And, best of all on this scheme is, that you saved lives while legally lowering “bloody taxes”. Isn’t that amusing?

That is cool info man ! Thanks.
And I also think this law should apply to more countries. Nothing wrong with having more blood donors.
