An American gamer form Louisiana ended up in jail after he had dialed a wrong number. The 29-year-old Thomas Ballard had just ended his night of video-gaming when he decided to call his friend about his victories.

Still hyped about his achievements Ballard pressed in the wrong number and was connected to a rather  amazed woman. He then started yelling: “I have killed them all !”.

The woman was shocked, wrote down Ballard’s number and called the police. When the police arrived at the gamer’s residence there was not a single dead body to be found. They soon realized it was all a misunderstanding. All Ballard had intended was to inform his friend about all the ‘bad guys’ he had killed that night, while playing the video game.

Unfortunately for Ballard, he was arrested though. He had neglected to pay a fine he had received 5 years ago. He received that fine for possession of cocaine.

Jane Illie, a 58-year-old teacher from Craiova, Romania, got so sick and tired of one of his student’s behavior, he decided to shoot his pupil. Illie shot the 15-year-old student in the hand.

The teacher wanted to teach the student a lesson, literally. According to his classmates, this was because he called a girl in the class a ‘goat’.  Jane Illie reportedly said: “Do I have to slap you, or do I have to shoot you?”.

The Craiova teacher decided to do the latter and shot the student in the hand with a rubber bullet.

The Craiova High School has suspended the teacher. Even after he declared to have shot the student by mistake.

Jane Illie was in possession of a valid license for the firearm.

A music teacher in the German district of Niedersachsen will probably be fired. This is the case because he ordered his students to sing a Nazi song.

The teacher is an employee of the Gymnasium in Delmenhorst. It all happened two weeks ago when he told his pupils to sing the battle anthem of the Hitlerjugend, ‘Unsere Fahne flattert uns voran’, and he ordered them to sing it with dedication.

Apart from singing the song the students also had to bring the Hitler salute.

The Secretary of Culture in Niedersachsen thinks it is important that students are being taught about the use of music in propaganda. ” But “, he declared. ” this has to be done with a level of sensitivity.” 

China announced on Wednesday it will ban Scooby Doo, Bugs Bunny, the Flintstones and other western cartoons from television to protect the Chinese cartoon industry. Chinese news agency Xinhua reported this today.

Starting May 1st all foreign produced animations are banned form Chinese television screens between 5pm and 9pm. Co-productions of Chinese and foreign producers will need a special license to be broadcasted during primetime. 

In 2007 China produced and televised more then 101.900 minutes of animated pictures. This was 23 per cent more then was televised in 2006.

The measures are intended to prevent foreign competition, especially from Japan. Other television shows, like realty TV, are also prohibited from screening during primetime.

The Chinese government further advises TV stations to only broadcast ‘ morally inspiring television shows‘ from now on.

“John Rambo is a pitiful man and suffers from a mental illness.” This is the official statement of the military junta in Myanmar (Birma). They are ofcourse referring to the new Rambo movie, featuring Sylvester Stallone. In this new episode Rambo goes on a rampage in Myanmar.

The military dictators in the Asian country have ordered all media to publish an article which ridicules the new Rambo flick.

This is reported by Irrawaddy, a prominent newsmagazine reporting news on Myanmar.

In Rambo IV, our hero has to free a group of Christian missionaries who are held hostage by Myanmar troops.

The junta also calls John Rambo a terrorist and a puppet of the American government. “He is a man who never laughs, he is aggressive and plain mad, ” the article says.

Illegal copies of the new Rambo IV are already for sale on the streets of Myanmar.
