The phrase: “Those bloody taxes !” is getting a very funny meaning in Poland nowadays.
From now on it is possible to pay your tax bills by donating blood in Poland. Everyone who donates a liter of blood can now deduct 45 euros from their tax bills. Hospitals are giving out certificates to blood donors for every liter of donated blood.
Then one simply puts this certificate with his tax application, and 45 euros is deducted from their tax debt.
“One of my friends is an accountant and he told me about this new procedure,” says Dariusz Gryka from the town of Bialystok. ” I have donated my blood three times now. I can say it is definitely worth it !”

The rabbit of Latvian president Valdis Zatlers is dead. Lisis, as the bunny was called, was a famous celebrity in Latvia. Lisis came to fame after president Zatler had told the press that he viewed his rabbit a full member of the presidential family.
It is speculated that Lisis was suffering from depressions after the family moved to the presidential palace last year. He longed back to his old home.

She was comatose for two long weeks. All this time, the husband, Dominic, grew more desperate. Then doctors told her husband they had given up hope and they were planning to switch off the life support.
This made Dominic, a trucker, launch one last attempt to wake her up. He started yelling: “You start fighting, don’t you dare give up on me now. I’ve had enough, stop mucking around and start breathing. Come back to me!”
After a couple of hours Yvonne miraculously opened her eyes.

In the Italian town of Marano, close to Napels, a very interesting lottery is being organized. First prize is a burial spot on the local cemetery.
The town’s cemetery is completely full at the moment. That is why an emergency cemetery is being built in Marano. Though that new graveyard will only have enough spaces for 48 people.
The city administration is concerned that people might be starting to bribe city officials, as to obtain an exclusive resting place.
This made them decide to start the rather odd lottery, of which the winner at least gets buried properly.
Though this is still a temporary solution. Work has begun on a much larger cemetery. The new graveyard will have space for over 1.000 burial spots.
Winner takes all
